1:00 AM - Lament

Timothy Santos

You are just, O Lord.
I see the darkness of my sin.
My transgressions have come to your light.

My house is destroyed,
my family is scattered.
For I have done wrong.

My bones are broken,
my bed is in waste.
For my sin is before me.

Help me in the darkness, Lord, and relent
for I am being obliterated.
I deserve it all, but I bow before you.

Make me see the light of your face again.
Make me hear the sound of laughter
for my mind and body are spent.

Sprinkle me with hyssop
and cleanse me of disdain
for you have shown me your wrath.

Show me now your mercy
for I turn my heart to you.
You are just, O Lord.
